Repairs are often worthwhile for external items like a flow switch or power/connector issues, but when the cell itself is depleted, replacement is usually the correct solution rather than attempting "repairs." Use the threshold mainly to judge whether it's worth troubleshooting multiple ancillary parts versus replacing the cell or upgrading the system. Before replacing, verify chemistry (calcium hardness, pH, stabilizer) and clean scale deposits per manufacturer guidance; scaling can mimic a dead cell.
