DJI RS-series gimbals are used by creators who need stabilized shots and quick setup. Failures tend to be mechanical and connector-related: worn axis bearings, damaged arms from drops, or USB ports stressed by accessories.
If the gimbal's motors calibrate correctly and the issue is a replaceable control component or connector repair under the threshold, repair can make sense because it preserves your balancing workflow and accessories. Replacement becomes more rational if the gimbal can't reliably balance, has persistent motor overload errors after troubleshooting, or has structural alignment problems-those can be expensive and time-consuming to diagnose.
Also consider the opportunity cost: if you depend on the gimbal for shoots, repeated reliability issues often justify replacement sooner, even if individual repairs look "cheap" on paper.
